Stamp duty in Karnataka is a tax levied by the state government on property transactions. The current stamp duty rates in Karnataka are 5% for male buyers, 5% for female buyers, and 5% for joint ownership.
In addition to stamp duty, buyers must also pay registration charges of 2% of property value to complete the property registration process. These charges are mandatory for legal transfer of property ownership.
Note: Slab-based: 2% up to Rs 20 lakh, 3% for Rs 21-45 lakh, 5% above Rs 45 lakh. No gender-based concession.
